     Mary Kate Dawson was born on 12 September 1848 in Daviess County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Joseph McCann Dawson and Elizabeth Miller. Mary Kate Dawson married James Harrison Cottrell, son of Samuel S Cottrell and Elizabeth Stone, on 18 November 1869 at Daviess County, Kentucky, at her home. Mary Kate Dawson and James Harrison Cottrell lived in 1905 at Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, at 727 Allen Street. James was working as a tobacconist at the time.

Mary Kate (Dawson) Cottrell died on 12 October 1921 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, at age 73 at 3:40 in the afternoon. Her cause of death was cardiac failure. She was buried on 14 October 1921 in Elmwood-Rose Hill Cemetery, Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, in Section 4.

In 1880 the family farm included 53 acres of improved land and 25 acres of unimproved land. The total value including land, buildings, machinery and livestock was 2,400 dollars. Livestock included four horses, one mule, and three milk cows which produced 100 pounds of butter the previous year. The farm also included 5 additional cattle, 2 of which were slaughtered, 7 sheep which produced 20 pounds of fleece, 17 swine and 15 chickens which produced 60 eggs. During the previous year 12 acres of land were used to produce 250 bushels of indian corn, 5 acres were used to produce 30 bushels of rye, and 7 acres produced 87 bushels of wheat. Additional crop produced 5,260 pounds of tobacco. Three acres of land held 51 apple trees which produced 75 pounds of apples.

Rosa A (Williams) Birkhead died on 22 July 1896 in Daviess County, Kentucky, at age 46 at 1:00 in the afternoon after an illness of three weeks. Funeral services were held on 23 July 1896 in Pleasant Grove Church, Daviess County, Kentucky, at 11:00 in the morning with the service conducted by Rev. J.F. Cashman and W.H. Dawson. Her cause of death was flux. She was buried on 23 July 1896 in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Philpot, Daviess County, Kentucky.

     Ellen Bow was born in May 1867 in Kentucky. She married Benjamin Thaddeus Birkhead, son of James Morrison Birkhead and Miranda Barnwell Cottrell, in 1899 in Daviess County, Kentucky.

Belle (Unknown) Cottrell died on 24 February 1916 in Wagner, Oklahoma, at age 52 at 10:00 in the morning. She was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Wagoner, Wagoner County, Oklahoma, Plot: South Main, Row: 38.

     Mary Roberts was born in Yelvington, Kentucky. She married Oscar E Cottrell, son of Calvin E Cottrell and Mary E Jones, in 1877. Mary (Roberts) Cottrell and Oscar E Cottrell lived in April 1910 at Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, at 414 East Seathworth Street. Mary (Roberts) Cottrell and Oscar E Cottrell lived in January 1920 at Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, at 909 Fredica Street.

     Sallie L Fuqua was born on 15 January 1859 in Daviess County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of John Perry Fuqua and Virginia Cottrell. Sallie L Fuqua married Jasper Bristow Karn on 30 May 1876 at Daviess County, Kentucky, at the residence of Charles Mays, Esq., in the presence of a large number of guests with the Rev. Dr. Cottrell officiating. Sallie L Fuqua was buried in Elmwood-Rose Hill Cemetery, Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky.

     Harvey Dishman was born on 23 November 1823 in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky. He was the son of James Dishman and Margaret Ennis. Harvey Dishman married Sarah Jane Hines, daughter of Pleasant Hines and Sarah Lucas, in October 1849 in Warren County, Kentucky.

     Joel Richard Madison was born on 1 May 1815 in Lynchburg, Culpeper County, Virginia, the son of Joseph Alcock. He was the son of Joseph Reynolds Allcock and Martha Ann Stilley Campbell. Joel's original surname was Alcock. Joel had it changed to Madison through a request for a special act of Legislature, likely before he married. Although the reason for his desire for the name change is not known, he was a lineal descendant of President James Madison and it has been said this was the reason. Joel Richard Madison married Mary Jane Herrington.

     Mary Jane Herrington was born on 13 August 1820 in Simpson County, Kentucky, the daughter of John Herrington of Simpson County, Kentucky. She married Joel Richard Madison, son of Joseph Reynolds Allcock and Martha Ann Stilley Campbell.

     Thomas Cottrell was born on 11 April 1690 in New Kent County, Virginia. He was the son of Richard Cottrell and Mary Anderson. Thomas Cottrell married Martha Hatcher on 25 May 1709 in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County, Virginia. Thomas Cottrell was baptized on 17 December 1710.

     Vernon Dixon Price was born on 16 November 1850 in Logan County, Kentucky. He was the son of Susanna Johnson. Vernon Dixon Price married Bettie Evans, daughter of Thomas Evans and Sallie Wooten, on 9 December 1885 in Logan County, Kentucky.
