He married Elizabeth Smith (Cottrell) Dulin, daughter of Reuben Cottrell and Sarah Homer Patman, on 13 September 1836 in Daviess County, Kentucky. Reverend Ellis was a Baptist Minister licensed by Bethabra Church on 19 Dec 1840. He was also the first paster of the Lewisport, Kentucky Baptist Church.

Hardin Haynes Ellis died on 22 December 1872 in Hancock County, Kentucky, at age 59. He was buried in Cemetery at Utility, Union Baptist Church, Hancock County, Kentucky.

Charles H Mayes and Virginia (Cottrell) Mayes lived in June 1910 at Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, at 908 Third Street.

Charles H Mayes died on 16 February 1916 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, at age 70 at 1:00 in the morning at his home at 908 East Third street after an illness of about two weeks. Funeral services were held on 17 February 1916 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, at 10:00 in the morning at his residence on East Third Street with Rev. M.G. Buckner conducting the services.      Joseph Jasper Bristow was born in 1784 in Henry County, Virginia. Jasper married Clarissa Powell in Virginia and later moved to Kentucky. Jasper and Clarissa has four children before she died in Oldham County, Kentucky. Jasper then moved to Daviess County, Kentucky. He married Rachael Eleanor Barnhill on 29 May 1827 in Daviess County, Kentucky.

Joseph Jasper Bristow died in July 1848 in Daviess County, Kentucky. He was buried in Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery, Habit, Daviess County, Kentucky.

     James Harrison Cottrell was born on 1 April 1846 in Daviess County, Kentucky. He was the son of Samuel S Cottrell and Elizabeth Stone. A bond for the marriage of James Harrison Cottrell and an unknown person was signed on 16 November 1869 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, by J.H. Cottrell and B.O. Dawson in the sum of one hundred dollars. He married Mary Kate Dawson, daughter of Joseph McCann Dawson and Elizabeth Miller, on 18 November 1869 at Daviess County, Kentucky, at her home.
