Glenda was shot in the arm and side by her husband Don at around 9:45 in the evening on 27 May 1972 with a .22 caliber pistol. The incident apparently occurred during a family argument. Don was later arrested at his brother's home on Sharon Drive in Bowling Green and charged with malicious shooting and wounding with the intent to kill. He was recognized on his own bond and apparently released to appear in City Police Court the following Friday.

Glendale Rhea (Flora) Galloway and Don William Galloway were divorced after 1972 at Kentucky. She worked as the building services supervisor for Western Kentucky University and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
