During the previous year 20 acres of land were used to produce 500 bushels of indian corn, and 15 acres were used to produce 100 bushels of wheat. Additional crop produced 10 pounds of potatoes and 3,000 pounds of tobacco. Three acres of land held 11 apple trees which produced 30 bushels of apples and bee hives which produced 30 pounds of honey. 100 cords of wood were also cut which were valued at 125 dollars. He was widowed with the death of Susan Florence (Barnhill) Kirk on 14 January 1918 in Daviess County, Kentucky. Funeral services were held on 15 January 1918 in Daviess County, Kentucky, at her home in the Hobit neighborhood at 10:30 in the morning.

He married Minerva P Kirk, daughter of John Leven Kirk and Susannah B Cottrell, on 19 November 1865 at Daviess County, Kentucky, at the residence of Luther Cottrell. In 1908 Hiram was stricken with paralisis but was not desperately ill until just prior to his death. Hyram S Bristow left a will on 2 May 1908 at Daviess County, Kentucky, stating that all of his estate be left to his wife, Minerva Bristow during her life and that at her death it was to be divided equally among his children Ida Lee Riddle, Ella Bell Williams, Mary Lizzie Harriston, Thomas B Bristow, Minnie Dell Taylor, and Eva Jane Ware.

He was born on 7 September 1894 in Missouri and died on 23 April 1986 in Los Angeles. When Jessie registered for the World War I Draft he was working as an electrician in victor, Colorado for the Arkansas Valley Light and Power company According to census records Ruby and Jesse had at least one child including Jan M. Wood.

     Clareta Amy Lashbrook was born on 20 November 1899 in Colorado. She was the daughter of John B Lashbrook and Edna Addie Wimer. Clareta Amy Lashbrook married Edmund O Pratt in 1917. Clareta (Lashbrook) Pratt and Edmund O Pratt lived in April 1930 at Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California, at 10722 Inglewood Avenue.

Clareta Amy Lashbrook died on 16 May 1990 in Paradise, Butte County, California, at age 90. She was buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California, in Lilac, Lot 164B.
