According to the obituary published the next day in the Owensboro-Messenger Taylor had been riding with another man who was driving the coupe when it suddenly turned suddenly to cross an intersection and was struck by the interurban car after having been driven on road parallal to the tracks for some time. John was honored by Green River Electric in early 1985 at a member meeting with a Pioneer Award, an award that is presented to individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to early development and advancement of rural electrification programs.
