William Paddock Barnett was born on 15 October 1803 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He was the son of William Barnett Barnett and Tabitha Paddox. William Paddock Barnett was baptized circa 1827 at Floyd's Fork Baptist Church, Jefferson County, Kentucky, by Z. Carpenter. He was ordained in 1829 at Jefferson County, Kentucky, and immediately called to service to the care of Floyd's Fork, later called Fisherville Baptist Church. William served as a pastor for over 46 years. During his ministry he served at Floyd's Fork, Chenowith's Bin, Jeffersontown, Pleasant Grove, and Long Run in Jefferson County; Buck Creek in Shelby County; Little Union, Plum Creek and Elk Creek in Spencer County; and Mt. Washington and Kings in Bullitt County.
