     William Augustus Winston was born on 28 April 1896 in Franklin County, North Carolina. He married Katherine C. Cosby, daughter of Clarence B Cosby and Katherine Caroline Geibel, on 16 August 1919 in Desoto County, Florida.

William was a flight instructor in the Army Air Corp. He gave first flight instructions to Charles Lindbergh. He was also the pilot that flew Will Rogers and Wiley Post back to the U.S. after their fatal Alaska plane crash in 1935. Later in his flying careerhe made an emergency landing on a Florida golf course with World Heavy Weight Champion Gene Tunney and his trainer.

     Irma Brashear was born on 2 September 1883 in Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Francis "Frank" Brashear and Georgiana V. Leonard.

Irma Brashear married Arthur Watkins Grier in 1901 in Pennsylvania. Arthur and Irma moved from Pennsylvania to Los Angeles, California around 1907.

Leonard, in 1938. Etta married John Moore Walker on 9 September 1905 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. John and Etta had at least one child named Irma Pearl Walker before John died in 1918. After John's death Etta married one of her cousins William Leonard Brashear. William and Etta lived in El Monte, California.

Etta Isabell Stevens died on 19 May 1941 in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, at age 60. She was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Glendale), Glendale, Los Angeles County, California.

     James W. Grier was born on 17 March 1902 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Arthur Watkins Grier and Irma Brashear. James was an actor, composer, and orchestra leader. He appeared in the films "Nobody's Baby (1937); "Small Town Girl" (1936); "Times Square" (1935); and "The Cohens And Kellys in Hollywood" (1932). He also wrote songs including "The Object Of My Affection" and "What's The Reason (I'm Not Pleasin' You?)"

     Sarah M. Grier was born in 1904 in Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Arthur Watkins Grier and Irma Brashear. Sarah likely married Herbert Laverne Hubbard around 1923 in Los Angeles County, California. She married a second time to Robert Francis Carter around 1935 in California.

     Arthur W. Grier Jr. was born on 19 May 1907 in Los Angeles County, California. He was the son of Arthur Watkins Grier and Irma Brashear.

Arthur W. Grier Jr. died on 27 March 1980 in Butte County, California, at age 72. He was buried in Nimshew Cemetery, Magalia, Butte County, California.

     Roy Thompson Mays was born in 1909 the son of Leon Brakley Campbell and Hortense Thompkins Smith. He married Elizabeth Thompkins Campbell, daughter of Leonidas Bradley Campbell and Hortense Thompkins Smith, on 8 August 1936 in Lowesville, Amherst County, Virginia.

     Tessie Harris was born on 12 April 1873 in Southampton County, Virginia. She married James Andrew Harrison, son of Alexander H Harrison and Emily Fannie Mayo, in 1900.

Tessie Harris died on 28 March 1948 in Richmond, Independent City (Richmond), Virginia, at age 74. She was buried in Maury Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.

     Samuel Benjamin Lashbrooke was born on 21 April 1848 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Frances Baylor Morton. Samuel was taught at home until he was around eight years of age. He then entered the Lewisburg Academy of Mason County and attended that school until he was sixteen.

In 1864 Samuel enlisted in the 11th Kentucky Copnfederate Cavalry underColonel Dick Morgan of Southwest Virginia. He was later detailed to General Breckenridge's Escort and participated in the battles of Bull's Gap, Morristown, Strawberry Plains, and other lighter engagements during the Knoxville campaign. In the engagement at Kingsport on 13 December 1864 Samuel was taken prisoner and was retained at Camp Chase in Ohio until June 1865. In June 1865 Samuel was released from Camp Chase and returned to Kentucky. He was then sent to Washington Lee University in Lexington, Virginia where he remained until the summer of 1868.

In the fall of 1868 Samuel started studying law in the office and under the instruction of Judge E.C. Phister. He completed his studies with Judge Emory Whittaker of Maysville and was admitted to the bar in 1870. He then begain the practice of lat at Mount Olivet in Roberison County, Kentucky.

In 1872 he left Mount Olivet and traveled through Missouri and Kansas searching for an eligible location to renew his law practice. He selected Butler in Bates County, Missouri and in October 1877 formed a partnership in the practice of law with the Hon. Charles C. Bassett. Samuel Benjamin Lashbrooke married Sallie Pennebaker and they apparently had no children.

Samuel Benjamin Lashbrooke left a will on 23 November 1885 at Bates County, Missouri, appointing F.J. Tygard and Thomas J. Smith, both of Bates County, as his executors. The will empowered them to carry out the provisions of his will and to sell and convey any or all of his real estate or proerty and divide the proceeds as provided in his will among his brothers and sisters.

In the specific provisions of his will Samuel identified two insurance policies, one with the Missouri Mutual Insurance Company and the other with he New York Mutual Life Insurance Company and indicated they were to be collected and applied to his depts with the balance being distributed with his other property. He left one thousand dollars to his mother rances Lashbrooke of Mason County, Kentucky. He left his watch and chain to his nephew William L. Van Arsdell of Fleming County, Kentucky and his gun and all accounterments to his brother James Lashbrook of Mason County, Kentucky. He left one hundred dollars to his brother Thomas M. Lashbrooke and two hundred dollars to his nephew Edward L. Lashbrooke of New Orleans, Louisiana.

He left the remainder of his property to be equally given to his brothers John R. Lashbrooke, Thomas M. Lashbrooke, James Lashbrooke and his sisters Mary Dimmitt, Frances A. Lashbrooke, Laura Van Arsdell and Bettie L. Peters.

Samuel Benjamin Lashbrooke died on 22 November 1886 at age 38 at the home of his brother after suffering from consumption for several years. He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Bates County, Missouri, in Section 14, Block 306. His estate was probated on 13 December 1886 at Bates County, Missouri.

     Frances Baylor Morton was born on 3 June 1803 in Kentucky. She married David Sandidge on 19 May 1823 in Mason County, Kentucky.

Frances B. (Morton) Sandidge married Peter Lee Lashbrooke, son of John J Lashbrooke and Leannah Leary Lee, on 24 November 1830 in Mason County, Kentucky.

Frances Baylor Morton died on 3 October 1898 in Mason County, Kentucky, at age 95 around 9:00 in the evening at her home near Lewisburg. She was buried in Lashbrooke Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

     Peter Lashbrooke was born on 10 October 1831 in Kentucky. He was the son of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Frances Baylor Morton. Peter was appointed as a cadet to West Point on 14 March 1850. His father Peter provided his assent to the appointment granting his full permission to sign articles by which he would be bound to serve the United States for at least eight years.

Peter Lashbrooke died on 8 April 1865 at age 33.

     Lucy J. Lashbrooke was born on 15 May 1836 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Frances Baylor Morton.

Lucy J. Lashbrooke died on 21 January 1879 in Kentucky at age 42. She was buried in Lashbrooke Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

     Laura A. Lashbrooke was born on 17 February 1839 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Frances Baylor Morton. Laura A. Lashbrooke married Isaac Van Arsdale on 22 September 1869 in Mason County, Kentucky.

Laura A. Lashbrooke died on 10 August 1896 in Kentucky at age 57 at 4:00 in the morning. She was buried in Fleming County Cemetery, Flemingsburg, Fleming County, Kentucky.

     Bettie C. Lashbrooke was born in 1843 in Mason County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Frances Baylor Morton. Bettie C. Lashbrooke married John B. Peters on 26 September 1871 in Mason County, Kentucky, at the residence of Peter Lashbrooke. John and Bettie had no children.

Bettie C. Lashbrooke died on 24 August 1904 in Mason County, Kentucky, at 2:00 in the morning at her home near Bernard. She had been confined to her room for two weeks before her death from heart failure. Funeral services were held on 26 August 1904 in Mason County, Kentucky, at her home at 2:00 in the afternoon. She was buried on 26 August 1904 in Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.
