     Thomas J. Campbell was born on 20 February 1836 in Campbell County, Virginia, twin of Francis Catherine Campbell. He was the son of Gustavus Adolphus Campbell and Mary Elizabeth Horton. Thomas enrolled for service in the Civil War on 1 May 1861 at Manassas Mill and mustered into the service on 20 May in Charlottesville. He served in the Nineteenth Infantry and was sick and in a hospital several times during 1862 and early 1863. In August 1864 he was furloughed for 40 days with acute diarrhea. His record shows the year as 1865 but this was obviously in error. In March 1863 he is listed as hospitalized in the Confederate States Hospital in Petersburg with pneumonia. He died in the hospital, presumably from pneumonia.

Thomas J. Campbell died on 7 March 1863 in Petersburg, Virginia, at age 27.

Francis C (Campbell) Lindsay lived on 20 April 1910 at 1114 Denver Avenue, Lynchburg City, Campbell County, Virginia.

Lewis Sale Campbell married Eliza Dabney Brown on 18 November 1835 in Albermarle County, Virginia. Lewis Sale Campbell appeared on the 1850 census, agricultural schedule of Amherst County, Virginia, with 250 acres of improved land and 320 acres of unimproved land with a farm valued at $2,500 and farming equipment and machinery valued at $100. There were 5 horses, six milk cows, four working oxen and eleveen other cattle on the farm. Lewis had 31 sheep and 29 swine valued at $800. The farm produced 300 bushels of wheat, 750 bushels of Indian corn, 150 bushels of rice, and 6,000 pounds of tobacco. It also produced 10 bushels of irish potatoes and 100 pounds of butter. He appeared on the 1870 census, agricultural schedule of Amherst County, Virginia, with 167 acres of improved land and 800 acres of unimproved land and a farm valued at $5,000 and farm machinery valued at $236. The farm contained five horses, seven milk cows, two working oxen, and fourteen additional cattle. It also had 23 swine, Value of the livestock was $720. The farm produced 167 bushels of spring wheat and 36 bushels of winter wheat along with 167 bushels of rye and 200 bushels of Indian corn as well as 2,000 pounds of tobacco. He was widowed with the death of Eliza Dabney Brown on 21 February 1881 in Amherst County, Virginia.

Lewis Sale Campbell died on 17 January 1892 in Amherst County, Virginia, at age 87. He was buried in Campbell Cemetery at Bethel Place, Amherst, Amherst County, Virginia.

     Thomas Horace Campbell was born on 18 December 1838 in Amherst County, Virginia. He was the son of Lewis Sale Campbell and Eliza Dabney Brown. Thomas joined the Methodist church in 1856 and was licensed as a minister in 1861. He enlisted in Company B, 60th Infantry Regiment Virginia on 1 July 1861. He was first under fire at Manassas and was wounded in the head at Williamsburg. Thomas had his thigh shattered with a ball during the battle of Gaines' Mill, Virginia in June 1862 while serving as a Confederate soldier of Pickett's Division. Thomas Horace Campbell married Hennie Virginia Wood on 16 October 1862 in Amherst County, Virginia. Thomas entered the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1872. By 1906, Thomas has served in the Virginia conference for thirty four years, twelve of which had been spent in the presiding eldership. At the time of his death he was pastor of West Amherst circuit.

Thomas Horace Campbell died on 14 July 1906 in at his residence, The Ware farm, Amherst County, Virginia, at age 67 at 5:30 pm. His cause of death was an affection of the heart. Funeral services were held on 18 July 1906 in at his residence, Amherst County, Virginia, at 11:00 am with Rev J.C. Reed, assisted by another Methodist minister conducting the services. Pall-bearers were G.A. Kent, W.J. Cash, W.H. Winstan, S.L. Watts, C.J. Campbell, and Oscar Baldock. Honorary pall-bearers were E.S. Brown, Dr. Wm. Hatcher, Dr. G.C. Butts, F.B. Tyler, H.C. Joyner, and J.C. Long. He was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, Campbell County, Virginia.

Wiley was a prisoner of war at Howlett's House, Virginia on 25 August 1864 and at Sailor's Creen, Virginia on 6 April 1865. He was captured on 7 April 1865 at High Bridge and taken to Point Lookout, Maryland POW camp on 7 April 1865. He was released on 24 JUne 1865 after an oath of allegiance. He was described as 5 foot 8 inches tall with ligh complexion, blue eyes, and brown hair in June 1865. He ended military service on 24 June 1865 in City Point, Lynchburg, Virginia. He married Martha Ann Fox on 14 December 1865 in Campbell County, Virginia, by Rev Joseph Spriggs. Wiley and his family including his wife Martha and daughters Hannah, Ella, and Mary moved to Pike County, Missouri around 1870.

John Wiley Campbell died on 18 August 1894 in Clarksville, Pike County, Missouri. His cause of death was an intestional obstruction. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Pike County, Missouri.
