     Elizabeth "Bettie" Smith was born on 8 May 1840 at Virginia. She married Dr James Wilson Miller, son of David Miller and Clarenda R. White, circa 1863 at Mississippi. Elizabeth "Bettie" (Wilson) Miller appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of Dr James Wilson Miller at Lee County, Mississippi; enumerated 11 June. J.W. Miller was enumerated as the 49 year old head of household. Elizabeth Miller was enumerated as his 40 year old wife and she was keeping house. Miller children enumerated were Kate R. age 12, Merle age 9, Sawood W. age 7, David D. age 4 and 2 year old Kavanaugh. Also enumerated in the household was J. W. Miller's 78 year old widowed father, David Miller.

Elizabeth "Bettie" (Wilson) Miller died on 12 October 1891 at age 51. She was buried at Shannon Cemetery, Shannon, Lee County, Mississippi.
