Mrs Piper was enumerated as his 69 year old wife. They had both completed their education at eighth grade.

Isaac Sherman Piper died on 18 May 1943 at Queen City, Schuyler County, Missouri, at age 74; of a brain hemmorage due to 10 hours of vomiting from ptomaine poisoning - accidental food poisoning. He was buried on 20 May 1943 at Queen City Cemetery, Queen City, Schuyler County, Missouri.
