On 17 December 1947 Ann spoke over the Headline Edition program in Berlin, which was carried by Radio Station WRNL in Richmond, Virginia. She said the thing that had most impressed her was that America was not telling her story to the people of the world who need most to hear it. During their travels the journalists traveled through five distinct combat areas including China, Siam, India, Greece and Palestine. Their travels were not without excitement. In Northern India they were caught in between two landslides in the Himalaya Mountains and in Greece they stopped the train to remove mines from the tracks. Their tour lasted over six months and also included Munich, Vienna, Prague, Paris and London.

Anne Cottrell died on 30 October 2004 in Washington, District of Columbia, at age 88.
