They were founding members of the Carolina Cardinals and traveled all over America. John Scott Pharr was a member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church and "served as an Elder, Sunday School teacher, and superintendent of the Sunday School." He was a scoutmaster for Troop 83 that met at his church. He enjoyed square dancing and gardening.

M. Wilcox. Richard Leonidis Young Sr was a reporter for the Charlotte News.

Emmy Lou (Long) Pharr was widowed with the death of her husband, Jones Lee Pharr on 10 December 1994.
