Lucy C (Brasheara) Brown was widowed with the death of Daniel W Brown before 1833. Lucy C (Brasheara) Brown married John Barrett Murphy, son of William Murphy and Mary Hoskins, on 15 May 1833 in St. Mary's Parish, Louisiana. Lucy C (Brashear) Murphy was widowed with the death of John Barrett Murphy before 1870 in St. Mary's Parish, Louisiana.

     Daniel W Brown married Lucy C Brashear, daughter of Ignatius Brashear Jr and Mary F Orme, on 31 May 1825 in Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Daniel W Brown died before 1833.

     John Barrett Murphy was born in 1800 in North Carolina. He was the son of William Murphy and Mary Hoskins. John Barrett Murphy married Lucy C (Brasheara) Brown, daughter of Ignatius Brashear Jr and Mary F Orme, on 15 May 1833 in St. Mary's Parish, Louisiana.

     Ruth Caroline Brashear was born on 22 January 1807. She was the daughter of Ignatius Brashear Jr and Mary F Orme. Ruth Caroline Brashear married Dr. William Brashear Lindsay, son of Judge William Lindsay and Martha Brashear, on 6 November 1829.

Ruth Caroline (Brashear) Lindsay died on 22 October 1866 in New Orleans, Louisiana, at age 59.

     Dr. William Brashear Lindsay was born on 13 May 1806. He was the son of Judge William Lindsay and Martha Brashear. Dr. William Brashear Lindsay married Ruth Caroline Brashear, daughter of Ignatius Brashear Jr and Mary F Orme, on 6 November 1829.

Dr. William Brashear Lindsay died on 7 August 1866 in New Orleans, Louisiana, at age 60.

     Judge William Lindsay was born in 1769 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He married Martha Brashear, daughter of Tobias Brashear and Martha Brocus, after 1788.

Judge William Lindsay died in 1817 on the Natchez Trace in the Old Chocktaw Nation.

     Martha Brashear was born in 1788 in St. Clair County, Illinois. She married Judge William Lindsay after 1788. Martha Brashear was the daughter of Tobias Brashear and Martha Brocus.

Martha (Brashear) Lindsay died on 17 July 1821 in Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi.

     America Brashear was born in 1816. She was the daughter of Ignatius Brashear Jr and Mary F Orme. America Brashear married Henry G Unseld on 4 November 1837. America Brashear was widowed with the death of Henry G Unseld before October 1844.

     Dennis Brashear was born in 1818. He was the son of Ignatius Brashear Jr and Mary F Orme.

     Mary Ann Hughes was born in April 1821 in Claiborne County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Capt Benjamin Hughes and Nancy Brashear. Mary Ann Hughes married Dr Bushrod Washington Morehead before 1838. Mary Ann (Hughes) Morehead was widowed with the death of Dr Bushrod Washington Morehead on 23 April 1844 in Mississippi. Mary Ann (Hughes) Morehead married Robert W Harper on 24 April 1859 in Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi. Mary Ann Hughes was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Section B, Lot 15.

Mary Ann Hughes died in 1876 in Mississippi.

     Dr Bushrod Washington Morehead was born in 1811 in Kentucky. He was graduated in 1836 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from the University of Pennsylvania with an M.D. degree. He married Mary Ann Hughes, daughter of Capt Benjamin Hughes and Nancy Brashear, before 1838.

Dr Bushrod Washington Morehead died on 23 April 1844 in Mississippi. He was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Section B, Lot 15.

     Julia Tevis Morehead was born on 27 March 1840 in Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Dr Bushrod Washington Morehead and Mary Ann Hughes. Julia Tevis Morehead married Daniel Vertner McAlpine on 29 May 1861 in Claiborne County, Mississippi.

Julia Tevis Morehead died on 24 January 1905 in Memphis, Tennessee, at age 64 at the home of her daughter. Funeral services were held on 26 January 1905 in Claiborne County, Mississippi, at the home of Mrs. Bagnell in the morning with the Rev. M.E. Melvin conducting the services. She was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Lot 15 (Hughes and Morehead.)

     Daniel Vertner McAlpine was born on 21 July 1837 in near Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi. He married Julia Tevis Morehead, daughter of Dr Bushrod Washington Morehead and Mary Ann Hughes, on 29 May 1861 in Claiborne County, Mississippi. Daniel was a member of one of the oldest families in the Port Gibson area. Before the Civil War he lived in affluence but everything was swept away during the war and he never succeeded in regaining his lost wealth. Daniel Vertner McAlpine was widowed with the death of Julia Tevis Morehead on 24 January 1905 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Daniel Vertner McAlpine died on 5 December 1907 in Louisiana at age 70 near Lake Providence. Funeral services were held on 7 December 1907 in Claiborne County, Mississippi, at the residence of S.H. Bagness at 10:00 in the morning. He was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Lot 15 (Hughes and Morehead.)

     Mary Hughes McAlpine was born on 2 May 1874 in Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Daniel Vertner McAlpine and Julia Tevis Morehead. Mary Hughes McAlpine married Samuel Haring Bagnell in 1905.

Mary Hughes McAlpine died on 24 April 1929 in Mississippi at age 54. She was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Section E, Lot 29.

     Colonel Henry Hughes was born on 17 April 1823 in Mississippi. He was the son of Capt Benjamin Hughes and Nancy Brashear. Henry was a Colonel in the Confederacy. It was said that he was brought home to his antebellum home, called Collina, in Port Gibson, Mississippi from the battlefield to die. He was also said to be "America's first Sociologist."

Colonel Henry Hughes died on 3 October 1862 in Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, at age 39. His cause of death was rheumatoid arthritis. He was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Lot 15 (Hughes and Morehead.)

     William Hughes was born on 12 January 1825 in Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi. He was the son of Capt Benjamin Hughes and Nancy Brashear. William Hughes married Mary Bertron on 8 April 1856 in Claiborne County, Mississippi.

Around 1863 William became a member of Captain Magruder's company of Hughes' battalion which later became a part of the Fouth Mississippi cavalry. He became quartermaster-sergeant and later orgnance sergeant of the Fourth Mississippi cavalry. He was captured on in April or May 1863 by Banks' army at Springfield Landing in Louisana just before the battle of Port Gibson which occurred on 1 May 1863. He escaped and rejoined his company until the close of the war when he was paroled at Gainesville, Alabama. William and his wife Mary had a total of nine children, six of which were still living in 1891.

William Hughes died on 22 September 1893 in Mississippi at age 68. Funeral services were held on 23 September 1893 in Claiborne County, Mississippi, at his residence at Greenwood Plantation at 10:00 in the morning. He was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Lot 20 (Hughes.)

     Mary Bertron was born on 16 April 1837 in Greenwood Plantation, Westside, Claiborne County, Mississippi, the daughter of Rev. Samuel Reading Bertron born in 1806 and Caroline Christie born in 1818. She married William Hughes, son of Capt Benjamin Hughes and Nancy Brashear, on 8 April 1856 in Claiborne County, Mississippi. William and his wife Mary had a total of nine children, six of which were still living in 1891. Mary (Bertron) Hughes was widowed with the death of William Hughes on 22 September 1893 in Mississippi.

Mary Bertron died on 1 June 1929 in Claiborne County, Mississippi, at age 92 at 12:30 in the morning after an illness of many weeks. Funeral services were held on 2 June 1929 in Presbyterian Church, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, at 11:00 in the morning with Rev. H.H. Brownlee assisted by Rev. T.B. Hay. Pall bearers were Dr. W.M. Jenkins, G.L. Dishardon, T.H. Freeland, R.B. Anderson, Myles Person, and John M McGruder. She was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Lot 20 (Hughes.)

     Nancy Hughes was born on 17 November 1865 in Greenwood Plantation, Claiborne County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of William Hughes and Mary Bertron. Nancy Hughes married Smith Coffee Daniell III on 25 June 1884 in Claiborne County, Mississippi.

Nancy (Hughes) Daniell died on 30 September 1887 in Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, at age 21. She was buried in Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in Lot 20 (Hughes.)

     Smith Coffee Daniell III was born on 16 October 1861 in Windsor Plantation, Claiborne County, Mississippi. He married Nancy Hughes, daughter of William Hughes and Mary Bertron, on 25 June 1884 in Claiborne County, Mississippi. Smith Coffee Daniell III was widowed with the death of Nancy (Hughes) Daniell on 30 September 1887 in Port Gibson, Claiborne County, Mississippi.

Smith Coffee Daniell III died on 17 September 1904 at age 42.

     Smith Coffee Daniell IV was born on 11 March 1885 in Windsor Plantation, Claiborne County, Mississippi. He was the son of Smith Coffee Daniell III and Nancy Hughes.

     Maria Jane Hughes was born in 1832 in Mississippi. She was the daughter of Capt Benjamin Hughes and Nancy Brashear.

     Mary E Brashear was born on 16 March 1829. She was the daughter of Robert H Brashear Sr and Mary Elizabeth Unseld.

Mary E Brashear died on 13 February 1844 at age 14.

     George H.S. Brashear was born on 28 October 1831. He was the son of Robert H Brashear Sr and Mary Elizabeth Unseld.

George H.S. Brashear died on 22 November 1857 in Meade County, Kentucky, at age 26. His cause of death was from an explosion on the steamboat "Rainbow."

     Margaret Caroline Brashear was born on 10 February 1834 in Bullitt County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Robert H Brashear Sr and Mary Elizabeth Unseld. Margaret Caroline Brashear married James Wells Ridgway on 9 March 1852 in Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Margaret Caroline (Brashear) Ridgway died in 1880 in Bullitt County, Kentucky.

     James Wells Ridgway was born in 1828 in Virginia. He married Margaret Caroline Brashear, daughter of Robert H Brashear Sr and Mary Elizabeth Unseld, on 9 March 1852 in Bullitt County, Kentucky.
