He was described as being of medium height and build with brown eyes and black hair. He married Mary Robbie Nason, daughter of Robert Milling Nason and Mary Ida Williams, on 19 October 1938. Charles Abbott "was a charter member of Rotary in Dallas, and was induced to become a member in Grenada." Charles Abbott was described as "highly educated and devoted a lot of his life to newspaper and research work." He authored many articles about "South America with which he was extremely conversant."

     Richard Nason Carver was born on 16 January 1916. He was the son of Groce Carver and Jessie Lee Nason. Richard Nason Carver married Bessie Louise Sink on 3 July 1943. Richard Nason Carver died on 31 March 1988 at age 72. He was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery, Grenada, Grenada County, Mississippi.

Margaret Stuart (Carver) Varner was widowed with the death of Rufus Livington Varner on 11 February 1983. Margaret Stuart (Carver) Varner died on 31 December 1993 at age 75.
