Beverly Farrar Morrissett married Judith Delany in 1858. Beverly Farrar Morrissett married Monterey Cosby, daughter of Jefferson M Cosby and Nancy Harris, in 1869. Beverley became a member of the Danville police force in 1876. Beverly Farrar Morrissett and Monterey (Cosby) Morrissett lived in June 1900 at Danville, Independent City (Danville), Virginia, at 771 Grove Street. Beverly Farrar Morrissett and Monterey (Cosby) Morrissett lived in April 1910 at Danville, Independent City (Danville), Virginia, at 771 Grove Street. In an article published in the Richmond Times Dispatch on 10 June 1918, Beverly claimed to the the oldest policeman in Virginia having been on the force for the past forty years. During his tenure he served under seven Mayors. He was described as hale and hearty and as erect that day as he was when he left the Confederate Army. His duties at the time were to look after the finances of the police department. Beverley retired from the Danville police force in 1922 after having served the last sixteen years as the bookkeeper of the Police Department.

Beverly Farrar Morrissett died on 5 July 1922 in Danville, Virginia, at age 89 at his home. Funeral services were held on 6 July 1922 in Danville, Virginia, in the evening with a large numbrer of citizens and virtually the entire police force participating.
